The Cubs' Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant stepped into the baseball spotlight Monday night, but they weren't there for long.

Both were eliminated in the first round of the All-Star Home Run Derby at Great American Ball Park. The Blue Jays' Josh Donaldson beat Rizzo 9-8 and the Angels' Albert Pujols knocked out Bryant 10-9.

"It was a cool format," Bryant said. "I was tired. I realized you have to swing at every pitch."
