Raiders are a team on the move, and that’s Oakland fans’ fear

Even with a long-awaited playoff game on hand, it gets harder and harder to be a loyal Raiders fan in the Bay Area. You are rock-solid loyal, but your team’s boss has happy feet.

To understand why the Raiders seem so willing and eager to leave Oakland’s fans in the lurch just as the team is busting out of a decade-plus slump, it helps to know the Davis family. Mark Davis has little in common with his late father, Al, except distinctive signature hairstyles, wardrobes made entirely of Raiders gear, and a deep belief that their Raiders are planet Earth’s team.

"It doesn’t matter where the Raiders are based," the Davises say by their actions, "whatever city we call home, our fans will be there for us."
