Police release video in 2015 shooting that injured woman near Strip

Two years after a woman was shot near the Strip in an incident that left her with “severe and permanent” damage, Metro Police are making a new push to identify the perpetrators.

Metro on Tuesday released a video of the shooting, which also shows the suspects running from the scene and later leaving in a silver car.

The shooting was reported shortly after 3 a.m. Sept. 16, 2015, at East Tropicana Avenue and Duke Ellington Way, police said. Arriving officers encountered the woman on the street with a man trying to help her.

An investigation — aided by the video surveillance — determined that the victim and the man, who would later try helping her, were walking and got involved in some sort of argument shortly after passing two male suspects, police said.

One of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired multiple rounds toward the pair, striking the woman once, police said.

They later fled in a silver, four-door car, police said. The suspects have not been identified in the two years since the shooting.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call police at 702-828-3251. To remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or crimestoppersofnv.com
