The call of the duck has gone unheeded.

A little more than a month after opening, “Duck Commander Musical” is closing at the Rio’s Crown Theater. Its final show is to be May 17.

Sources in the show and those close to the production team said today that calls were made to the crew today informing them the show would close. The musical produced by Dodgers Theatrical based on the Robertson family from the A&E reality-TV series “Duck Dynasty” celebrated its world premiere on April 15.

Word of the imminent closing seeped into the Las Vegas entertainment scene as early as April 19.

Update: On Friday afternoon, a release from Kirvin Doak Communications, the production's PR agency, confirmed the May 17 closing. The statement left open the possibility of a sit-down residency in "interested" cities, along with a national tour. The show struggled at the box office at the Rio, typically selling fewer than 100 tickets per performance even at deep discounts.
