Citing vocal concerns, Janet Jackson is postponing her scheduled performances at Axis Theater at Planet Hollywood, which were booked from Oct. 9-10.

Jackson is moving the dates and venue for her next Las Vegas appearance, which is now a single show May 14 at what the news release sent by Live Nation announcing the postponement calls "MGM Arena." MGM Resorts owns MGM Grand Garden arena and Mandalay Bay Events Center, and also the under-construction Las Vegas Arena. A spokeswoman for Live Nation said she could not say yet which venue would be used for the rescheduled performance. A spokesman for the resort company said he was not yet sure, either, which venue would be activated for Jackson, though it would be an arena and not any of the resort chain's theaters. Las Vegas Arena is scheduled to open in the spring of 2016, and George Strait is the first announced performer there with two dates set for April and again in September.

Live Nation, which is booking Jackson’s tour, said the 49-year-old superstar is following medical advice to rest her vocal cords.

The on-sale date for the May 14 show begins Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster.com, all MGM box office locations and all Ticketmaster outlets.

Ticketholders for the canceled shows at Axis are being given first chance to purchase tickets for the new date during a presale Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. Those ticketholders will be sent a password via Ticketmaster.

For refunds, those who purchased tickets to the Axis shows must obtain those refunds at point of purchase.

Anyone who booked tickets through Ticketmaster who does not want to purchase tickets to the May show at MGM Grand will be automatically refunded within 10 days.

Jackson also canceled her scheduled performance Sept. 18 at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Festival at MGM Grand Garden Arena, citing an ear issue that prevented her from flying.
