I’m 0-3 on NBA Summer League plays the past week, so keep that in mind when looking at today’s championship game pick.
The Spurs made some headlines before the event started by naming assistant Becky Hammon their Summer League head coach. The move has worked out well, as San Antonio is in the finals as a two-point underdog and their second-year forward Kyle Anderson was named the Summer League Most Valuable Player.
With San Antonio winning a huge free agent battle by signing LaMarcus Aldridge, it feels like everything is coming up Spurs, and that’s going to include the Summer League title. Between Anderson and guard Jonathan Simmons, the Spurs have enough firepower to get past Phoenix.
