We’ve entered the fourth season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.

Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the the minimum wager $300. Ray Brewer won back-to-back titles in the 2015-2016 and 2016-17 seasons, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-2015.

Cleveland Indians plus-152 at Boston Red Sox: $300 to win $456

More than likely, the Red Sox win their second straight against the Indians tonight. But the probability is something like 55 percent at best, not better than 60 percent as this betting line implies.

The rising price makes the Indians the best value on the board today. Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale has been fantastic lately, but when he’s fully healthy, Indians starter Carlos Carrasco is just as tough.

And he seems to be fully healthy coming into this start. If there’s any team that can undo Sale, it’s Cleveland.

The Indians have one of the better offenses in the American League and a history of hitting Sale hard from his time with the White Sox. Cleveland repeating history and winning by several runs isn’t out of the realm of possibilities.

But the game will likely be close going into the final innings, with both teams having a chance to win. The high payout on the Indians will look even better by then.

Current Standings: Granger (4-3, $12,157), Keefer (4-1, $11,095), Grimala (1-1, $10,010), Brewer (3-4, $8,780)

Case Keefer can be reached at 702-948-2790 or [email protected]. Follow Case on Twitter at twitter.com/casekeefer.
