We’ve entered the fourth season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.

Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the maximum bet being to win $1,000 and the minimum wager $300. Ray Brewer won back-to-back titles in the 2015-2016 and 2016-17 seasons, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-2015.

Bruins minus-155 at Golden Knights: $620 to win $400

The Bruins aren’t off to a great start this season. They’re also finishing a three-game road trip and today’s game in Las Vegas is the second of a back-to-back.

These signs point towards favoring the Golden Knights, but there’s one major problem and it’s between the pipes in goal for Vegas. Marc-Andre Fleury was placed on the injured reserve this morning after suffering a concussion in the second period of Friday’s game against Detroit.

Expected to start today for the Golden Knights is Malcolm Subban, who would be playing against his former team in the Bruins.

Subban has struggled, being pulled from his only two NHL starts after allowing six goals on a combined 28 shots. His play wasn’t much better in the American Hockey League, where he allowed 2.41 goals per game for the Providence Bruins last season.

The former first-round pick may become a solid starting option for Vegas down the road, but in his Golden Knights debut, against his former team, I’ll go with the Bruins.

Current Standings: Granger (7-6, $12,095), Keefer (11-8-1, $10,781), Grimala (5-5, $9,595), Brewer (10-11, $8,330)
