Sarah Jane, left, was disappointed with the 8 1/2 hot dogs she ate at Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Championship at New York-New York.
Of course, the lone female contestant bellied up next to Rich “The Locust” LeFevre, right, of Henderson. The seventh-ranked competitive eater gobbled 32 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes to earn a spot in the international eat-off on Coney Island, N.Y. on July 4.
“I just like doing random things,” said Jane, a photographer in The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace. She’s been on game shows and made the bloopers of “American Idol” singing “Viva Las Vegas.”
“My main thing was I didn’t want to come in last, and I didn’t get sick,” she said.
“I’m totally down for another contest. A lot of people can’t handle a lot of sugar, and I’m pretty good at that.”
