In a lengthy interview aired on “Fox News Sunday,” conservative bloviator Rush Limbaugh trashed President Barack Obama as an egotist taking the country down a road to ruin.
It was red meat for the viewers of Fox News, which carries the far right’s message. For the rest of us, it was an insight into the thinking of the man who has become the soul of the Republican Party, whose faithful listeners tune in to his radio show to get direction.
Limbaugh started in on the president by calling him “very narcissistic,” which is laughable, considering the legendary ego of the radio host who has for years proclaimed his “talent on loan from God.”
As Limbaugh riffed on the president and the country in dark, melodramatic tones, we wondered whether we were watching “The Colbert Report” or some other farce instead of a reputed news show.
You could imagine sinister tones from a pipe organ playing in the background. Limbaugh ominously said these are “dark days for our country” and accused Obama of carrying a “radical” agenda. Limbaugh claimed the White House is “destroying” the economy and the private sector, adding, “I have to think that it may be on purpose.”
He did not, nor was he asked to, expand on that absurd comment. Destroy the economy? Why not? That’s always a good political move, isn’t it?
Limbaugh also sounded the popular Republican refrain, accusing the White House of trying to peel back personal liberties and freedoms. Those charges have been tossed around too easily by conservatives such as Limbaugh and Glenn Beck. When they’re not claiming the president is a communist, they call him a fascist. To hear it from them, he could be both!
In one particularly telling point in the interview, Limbaugh was asked why people aren’t turning to the Republican Party. He noted a lack of leadership and a “muddied” message.
“What do they stand for?” he asked. “Right now it’s opposition to Obama.”
No wonder. As Rush goes, so go the Republicans.

So it true the LV Sun and Democrats think that non-elected conservatives run the Republican party.
Here is what Democratic Senator John Kerry said on the Stanford issue "Too bad. If a Governor had to go missing it could have been the Governor of Alaska. Sarah Palin.
While Democrats are trying to pick the Republican leadership between NON ELECTED Colin Powell and Rush Limbaugh
Conservatives know that Liberals run the Democratic Party as lead by:
-Hollywood starlet spokesperson "tea parties are "about Rednecks "hating a black man"" Janeane Garofalo
- Hollywood star spokesperson Hugo Rafael Chavez Frias fascist supporter Sean Penn,
- frauduant voter registrar ACORN and SEIU founder Wade Rathke,
- Check-card intimidator SEIU President Andy Stern,
- Out of Wedlock dead beat geezer, sexually perverted kiddy porn "I don't think it's funny" clown Dave Lettermen
- Mega Billionaire Hedge Fund manager, and pro-creator of TARP George Soros,
- MoveOn .Org founder and anti-American open borders Wes Boyd
- CNN blogger Jack Cafferty
- Tingling newscasters Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann,

-Releaser of Classified National intelligence information NY Times Editor Bill Keller
- Inept Comedian and giddy celebrator of tormentors ""she shows herself to be very, very shallow -- you know, as they say, stunningly superficial.." Joy Behar, and
- Cut-and-Paste Stenographer Commentator Maureen Dowd

-insipid Comedian Lewis Black
- Slur-laden hate trader and Democrat celebrity blogger Perez Hilton
I think it is so hilarous that the libs have these obessions with Fox and Limbaugh.
I listen to left-wing radio on XM and I think I heard more sound clips from Fox and Limbaugh then anything else.
I think this editorial is great.
I think left-wing radio should keep playing the sound clips.
Keep up the good work. It repeats their message and gives them more exposure especially to people who probably are not currently listening to them.
I am confident that some will say....hmmmm what is the deal with Fox or Limbaugh....I go find out myself.
Thanks for the free ad time.
Just to those libs out there......I think Young Turks is the best of the left-wing radio....the rest are just Limbaugh wanna-be's and do have not one inch of the skills set needed.
i love rushbo the drug addict...
he keeps spewing hate...
his faithful hate mongers become further detached from reality...
the world sees that the republicans are stupid pathetic liars...
and democrat registration goes up and up and up...
go rushbo the drug addict go...
you da man!!!
My father told me once that the best way to handle idiots is to ignore them and they will go away,...so I never miss Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, O'Reily, Dobbs and the rest of the circus side show. I never miss them because I never listen to their trash radio and TV exploits.
The White House should follow that lead and get something constructive accomplished. Its not like the Bush administration didn't give them anything to fix. They gave Obama a mountain to climb,...so instead of worrying about Fox,...lets get climbing.
"He did not, nor was he asked to, expand on that absurd comment. Destroy the economy? Why not? That's always a good political move, isn't it?"
Amazing how stupid you liberal are, look at what Obama has done to our economy, he's made it worse and we will enter into a full blown depression. When your president touted the stimulus bill be promised rebuilding Americas infrastructure, he lied and yes, Obama is a LIAR. What was passed that we're paying for is more welfare and freebies to your party. Simple math, $785 billion passed $38 billion for infrastructure and $747 billion for welfare and social programs.
The $38 billion won't and isn't creating new jobs, it does nothing for our line of work, and he lied. If he put $400 billion into what he told us, the economy would be on rebound and unemployment would be below 5-percent. It is the stupid leading the stupid with Obama in charge; we can now prove that affirmative action doesn't work.
What time is Obama's tee time today?
At least he could hire a caddy and create "a job".
From the article...
"Limbaugh claimed the White Houseis "destroying" the economy and the private sector, adding, "I have to think that it may be on purpose."
He did not, nor was he asked to, expand on that absurd comment. Destroy the economy? Why not? That's always a good political move, isn't it?"
...allow me then to answer this simple question. Of course anyone with half a brain could figure it out themselves, but then that does exclude the SUN editorial staff. The reason BHO is trying to destroy the economy and private sector is because he is a socialist and wants to impose socialism on this country. He's said as much himself, which you should know but you choose to ignore that fact.
Obama can't hire a caddy and create a job, he doesn't have a clue in that regard. The only "job" Obama seems able to create is a tax payer funded job. As was so clearly pointed out in this recent interview, and, as it's plain to see so far, Obama is "in over his head". Now that he's faced with actually having to act as a President, he's falling way short. Much like you would expect from a child with no genuine credentials. Make a decision, what's that?
And just what does the LVSun offer up? Not much because it takes it's marching orders from the Obama administration and the far left loons running the show there. Obama and his worshippers decide Fox news and Limbaugh should be a target and bingo, there is newspapers like the Sun there to provide the echo chamber. Of course there's never a peep about the ugly, hateful shenanigans of liberal crackpots like Keith Olbermann because the LVSun is on board with that brand of hate.
I hope Y'all had a chance to read or hear about
RUSH GETTING PUNKED BIG-TIME.
How lame is that??? What a PRO!
Just goes to show you, the big fella will stop at absolutely nothing in an effort to spread his vile, evil hate.

So calling conservatives Nazis, radicals, extremists is positive by the sad sack representatives of this country along with Obamination using curse words. Wow this editorial writer is quite a few sandwiches short of a picnic and unable to find his rear end with both hands on a bright sunny Vegas Day.
I am trying to find something the President has accomplished but, sadly, cannot. It seems he would prefer celebrity status and just tour the country doing fund raisers and appearing on Letterman and Leno evidently continuing to campaign for 2012. And, how about Pelosi? That silly smile on her face as she dumped the 1990 page house healthcare bill on the podium. A few more botox injections and she'll be like Joan Rivers and have to ask someone "am I smiling?" Her Senate counterpart, prime time Harry Reid, has begun his campaign already. The dem's complain that the repub's don't offer any input on the health care issue, yet there are several repub's who have offered but have been ignored.
Rush Limbaugh has been preaching to the choir for many many years. The only people who listen to him (with very few exceptions) are already rock ribbed conservatives. Anybody who's mind is closed to any form of liberalism is a fool, and anybody who's mind is closed to any form of conservatism is a boob. Perfection is in the center..preferably slightly right of center.
Rush Limbaugh convinces no one and alienates many. He should quit, he's already in the pop culture. He can't improve his position.
This paper has such a liberal bias proven over and over again. The Las Vegas Sun should report the news and quit the pushing their ridicules opinions. Are we ever going to have a real newspaper that doesn't push it's biases on it's readers?
There is a need for far left and far right agendas in order to find the middle ground and establish reason. The problem we are facing now is that the extreme left has outbalanced the extreme right and the middle ground has been lost to the rest of us. The far left thinks that they have some kind of mandate to establish their extreme left agenda. The president said he wanted to work with Repubs (this would help establish a middle ground) but instead has chugged on with the far left agenda, unable or unwilliing to find the middle ground.
So the far right is trying to bring him back to the negotiating table. It is ultimately better for we the people.
Rush has only about 18 million listeners. There are about 330 million people in this country. About 6%. He must be saying something truthful to have the liberal fools throwing such a hissyfit. I would love to see a televised debate between Limbaugh and Obama with no notes allowed and the topic announced 30 minutes before airtime. We would see who is informed and who isn't. Rush will be here long after Obama has been forgotten.
Rush Limbaugh is an vile, obese, drug-addled gasbag whose mother should have strangled him at birth. He is not quite as nutty as the bat-s**t crazy with a side of fries Glenn Beck, but runs a close second. And the fools who hang on his every word are as screwy as he is. Of course, CNN's Lou Dobbs is third, of course, and the only real differences between Dobbs and Limbaugh is that Dobbs is prettier.
I'm glad the Sun wrote and printed this. It makes it easy to see what scares the liberals.
But it also shows that you apparently are unaware of how the system works. The country elected the most liberal president ever - an extreme leftist. Do you think you can balance this with centrist values? Here's a tip for the Sun - you obviously can't figure this out on your own - the further the president and congress go to the left, the further the conservatives need to go to the right.
Like some who comment here, the Sun editorial staff prefers bashing to using any critical thinking skills.
Did anyone see the three hour "infomercial" with Rush Limbaugh on NBC earlier this month? Didn't read an editorial in the Sun about that. Love him or hate him, people are interested in what he says. If the editorial writer watched the entire Fox News Sunday hour after the "lengthy" interview, he/she would have seen the debate on other issues with a balanced panel of liberals and conservatives. As a former Dem now Independent, I enjoy Fox News' commentary shows because they have spirited debate from both sides of the aisle. Unlike MSNBC which regularly have guests that always agree with their commentators and news anchors (no difference between the two).
The only way the Fascist right thinks it can win is by telling many versions of the Nazi "Big Lie." By repeating the many versions of the "Big Lie" they are trying to brainwash the un-thinking among us and radicalize certain segments of voters to rush to the polls and vote against their own personal interest. They even vote against the interests of their grandparents, their parents, and their children. Why are these right wing "Brownshirts" so suicidal?
During WWII the USA lost over 500,000 of its young and brave against the Nazi's/Fascists who used the "Big Lie" very effectively against the German people. Do not dishonor "The Greatest Generation" by following the right wing Demagogues who wish to see America in ashes.
Jlb101:
LMAO, Obama nor the Democratic Party would never allow a debate between anyone who speaks the truth or calls Obama on the carpet for what he has done to America. I can't stop LMAO thinking about a debate, Democrats would rather commit suicide and hope like hell they'd be entitled to 72 virgins than have a debate where they had to speak the truth or sit and listen to the truth.
Talk about HBO making money, the hell with Boxing, this event would produce billionaires overnight and would have the highest ratings ever.
ghostcommander:
I think you hair is on fire!
I take it The Sun doesn't dig Rush too much LOL!!
The dems should put their money where their mouth is. Let James Carville go up against Limbaugh in a no holds barred debate. I'm sure Rush would salivate at the chance. It's easy to take potshots at someone but the true test of character is to fully engage. Anything less is cowardly.
Just Google or Go To: "Eisenhower's warnings."
The fact that these idiots (Limbaugh and Beck, and others)is that they think Communism, Socialism, and Facism are all together. This is why I'm against these kinds of idiots. THOSE THREE DO NOT GO TOGETHER.
In fact, they contradict each other. They would know this if they STUDIED Political science which ..as we know, they don't have a college education which is quite evident. I sometimes stress the importance of education, but some people consider "elitist" but it definitely makes you a legitimate source for information or Commentary.
It is Rush who has more of a "radical agenda". He's closer to Facism than Obama. The idiot doesn't even know what Facism is. He thinks Obama is socialist, communist, and facist, which all contradict each other. I believe he's a mix of Capitalist with Socialist, and if you're educated, you know our country is A MIX, not Capitalist.
Honestly, I don't mind when people criticize the President or the opposite side, it keeps them in check or hopefull in route for a better job. It's just that Rush is an idiot with a low IQ who puts and thinks with emotions rather than intellectually.
"The dems should put their money where their mouth is. Let James Carville go up against Limbaugh in a no holds barred debate. I'm sure Rush would salivate at the chance. It's easy to take potshots at someone but the true test of character is to fully engage. Anything less is cowardly."
James Carville would intellectually destroy Limbaugh. Although I disagree with James Carville on a lot of things, he's definitely a more intelligent and prepared person. Political science professor, he could teach Limbaugh politics.
Limbaugh is a doper? Obomber admitted being a pot smoker and a crack head and it sure shows. If he ever had a mind it is gone.
Republicans took the State House in NJ and VA.
Look out Birdiedreamin, we're coming for you.
The fact that neoCons gleefully hop aboard the bandwagon of a slovenly, uneducated, drug addict -- and think this person would have any sort of intellectual advantage in a debate over a past president of Harvard Law Review, and the current President of the US - really does say it all.
I mean seriously. Obama in a debate with Rush Limbaugh would be like LeBron playing one on one vs. the Opportunity Village MVP. Bright light, meet dim room.
Then again, being exposed as an ignorant loudmouth (i.e. Katy Abrams, Orly Taitz) seems to be some kind of badge of honor that neoCons wear proudly. Fascinating tactic, I must admit -- walk away with your hands in the air and claim victory no matter how bad the beating. Saul Alinsky move over. This one is right out of the Mike Sanford playbook.
This is how rumors get started and then fools believe it to be true. Obama admitted he smoked pot but he did not say smoked crack. At least half of the adults that grew up in the 60's to the 80's.In Hawaii the percentage is probably higher only because we grew primo pakalolo.(inhale, cough, cough)
If Rush knows so much of what is wrong with our government why hasn't he run for political office to make this country greater. He's nothing but a sycophant. He has no real solutions, no real answers only an agenda. If he did he would run for office, any office. Then he could institute his solutions.I would rather see a debate between him and John Stewart.
Rush,
Either come up with a solution or shut up.
You are either part of the solution or part of the problem.
Why didn't the past president of harvard law review publish anything in the journal he edited? Funny how people think he's so smart but there is little evidence outside of a Hahvad degree.
400 pounds of lard and 2 ounces of wisdom doesnt qualify you for anything regardless of political affiliation.
Geeze louise, Rush does have a solution in mind. Vote Obama and his friends out of office as soon as possible...
By the way, Limbaugh is not an elected official and does not receive taxpayer money, so I believe he is free to say whatever he likes...
If you don't want to listen to Rush, DON'T!!!
You're right Larry. We have the right not to listen to him.
It's not avoidable though :P He has many followers. Basic logic: If he's an idiot, his followers are idiots.
Who's a bigger fool, the fool, or the fool that follows the fool?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6-R8smjI...
Then mr. meow, we have something in common. We are not idiots...
I was looking back to see if you were looking back to see if I was looking back...
The left just can't "Move On" can they? This obsession with Rush, Rove and FOX has them distracted. Real shame.
Next time Limpbough is in Vegas (here last week) he should be followed. (I'd stake out the pass between Vegas and Pahrump. Blue pill express.
mred is talking about stalking now.. So much for freedom of speech from these compassionate guys on the Left.
If any of these idiots who worship at the feet of "Faux Noise" would stop and think for a moment and do there own research{ which means getting your information from more than one source} they would realize they are being "spun"! "GhostCommander" has it right, this is the "Big Lie" straight out of the "Goebbels/Rove" handbook.
I love how libs are all about diversity and inclusion until you disagree with them.
Many of us idiots who get our news from FOX News also do our own research and "decide" for ourselves on political matters.
If you want all the news... You will only find it on FOX News. CNN is not bad, but they are a little slow sometimes in getting the stories on air.
halfacre sounds just like the rest of the guys on the Left who would limit our news to that which has the White House seal of approval. Free speech only applies to those who have the same political opinions as themselves.
And if all else fails, resort to name calling and demeaning people to restrict their freedom of knowledge...
Ah! The 'liberal' editorial staff at the Las Vegas doesn't like Rush Limbaugh. Okeydokey. Gosh, isn't it fun to label opinionated drivel coming from the LV Sun as being 'liberal?' The Sun is always quick to point out someone, or something, as being right, far right, or extreme right as per their own political outlook. Terms such as 'liberal' and 'far-left' are buried someplace in a corner filing cabinet, just outside of the LV Sun's mens room. In the basement.
So, rather than make some intelligent commentary on the current state of the US economy, the LV Sun editorial staff decided to pound-away at ole (right wing, far right, or Nazi-inspired) Rush Limbaugh. Forgive me, but I'm not sure as to what political office Rush was elected to? Hmmm. Here in the United States the pinheads on Capital Hill ( anyne know of a guy called Reid? )have unleashed a deluge of monstrous budget deficits that could bring down our very currency within a few years. Yup. Meanwhile, the Chinese are sitting on nearly a trillion dollars of US government bonds which they know are going to be dropping in value, ...shortly. They're not stupid. They can correctly evaluate the clowns who have taken over the US government. So, what to do? Why, they're buying commodites! You would too. It's only logical. Next time you drive by that gas station on the corner, take a close look at the gas price. Didja know that there is a glut of oil on the world markets? Didja know that supply and demand seem to be irrelevant in this case? Why? The Chinese are buying oil futures, ...by the ton. Gold, copper, exotic minerals,...anything they can their hands on. It's only logical. The coming world economic implosion ( a good Las Vegas word! ) will be stunning, breathtaking to the economically challenged. Like the LV Sun! While they're hammering away at a minor radio talk show host, the US economy is sliding towards a disaster not seen in 80 years. How silly is that?
By the way, how are those newspaper subscriptions going these days guys? Hmmm. Perhaps it has something to do with that unemployment rate, eh? Did any of you 'liberals' take notice that we've just elected one of the most inexperienced Presidents in history, whose only achievement in life was being a 'community organizer?" hmmmm?
Mozart
Thing that bothers me with liberals is how they claim they're so "open minded". So open minded their brains fall out.
I'm not a conservative either, but when you disagree with them, they won't be too open minded. If we were all open minded, we wouldn't be too divisive.
stalking not needed, just smell, a mixture of BO, dirty golf shoes, and cigar smoke. Maybe he was here for another quickee divorce.
OK, When I get into my local grocery store, I see Glenn Beck's book on a full display in front, giving my unemployed household the right to choose to buy his book or feed my family. I get an email from a local theater chain alerting me that there is a screening of Glenn Beck's Christmas pageant for 2 nights only. We can choose to feed our families or buy a ticket to his soapboxing of his kind of folk-iness. A few months back..Sean Hannity brought his America tour to a local arena for residents to choose to feed their families or listen to his opinions in an entertainment format.
OK..my question is this. How is spending money on these people going to help our economy here? Come to think of it, the one-stop shopping at Fox News of everything conservative has made it a finacial gold mine and a crown jewel of the News Corp empire. Bill O'Reilly gives you directions to his merchandise web site as fast as he gives us his opinions.
If this form of conservative values is supposed to be the salvation of America, then why haven't any of these commentators quit their lucrative jobs to run for office? Glenn Beck is hovering over the entire broadcast day at Fox News like a vulture, waiting for Bill O'Reilly to quit or die to get his time slot. You would think he would have given John McCain a run for his money, if he actually ran. Do you think the hoards of Hannity fans would outnumber the rock star status of Barak Obama's mass events? Would Rush Limbaugh withstand the vetting and personal attention Sarah Palin recieved during last years campaign.
I would have to say no. Their sole purpose, like the banks on Wall Street, is to make money. They are NOT shelling these opinions or thoughts for free.
Well ..in this country, people are free to make a living as long as its legal..ok..however..back to my grocery store display..next to Glenn Beck's book..is Marie Osmond's new book. Mind you, Marie's book does not have the word "Idiots" in the title.. however.. she has a show at the Flamingo with brother Donny on an extended run, providing an economic boost to the local economy and keeping many Flamingo employees working. Now Marie's subject matter may not be as juicy and exciting at Beck's book, but I don't see him, or his buddies picture on the side of any hotel in this town..nor are they keeping any local employees their jobs. Yes my friends..Marie Osmond is actually helping the economy here better than Rush, Sean, Bill, or even Glenn.
Who would have thunk?
RE: TGGladue
You statements are correct. Not only do you see the money train, others see it too. Lou Dobbs at CNN has been rumored to have some interest in Fox News. That is hearsay, but his know-all rants and tirades on CNN certainly open the door wider into the Fox House.
But is it good for the country? No. At best, is it good theater? No. Certainly not in these times. Mr. Limbaugh is not someone Americans should desire to emulate, as a professional race baitor, agitator and instigator.
Some of the national media figures talk a big game, but do not have the personal make up or skills to run with the big boys in Washington DC. They are not persons who can carry the ball themselves, but flawed persons who hang around the fringe as lookie-loos, inciting more conflict, stress and expense on society.
People such as Bob Scheiffer and Mike Wallace at CBS are the exceptional people and newsmen today, and if someone actually on the field of play wants an opinion from the stands, it is the opinion of people like Mr. Scheiffer or Mr. Wallace that receives an honest listen.
TGGladue, it's not about Beck's book is it. It's about you. You did like having to see Glenn Beck's picture on a book. You don't think that he or anyone else who has a different political opinion should be allowed to have a book on public display more or less write one...
Gregory likes to spread rumors even when they have no basis or bearing on anything. But he had to get a couple of knocks in against CNN and FOX News.
Gregory also slams Rush Limbaugh and those of the media who he does not like or want anyone else to listen to...
