Does anyone think it strange that Russia, India and China, the three nations most likely to be affected by Islamic terrorist victories in Afghanistan and Pakistan, are not taking a part in helping us solve the issue?
A glance at history shows us that when Winston Churchill was part of the creation of what is now Afghanistan, the area was composed of at least three tribes that did not get along with one another. A glance at a map shows that parts of those tribes make up Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
Russia still has trouble with Islamic extremists in those countries, which means Russia still has trouble with Afghanistan. Remember when Russia got its rear kicked in Afghanistan in the late ’70s and ’80s?
In the meantime, Pakistan continues to harbor Islamic extremists who hunger for Kashmir. The extremists also include the remnants of Osama bin Laden’s forces. The Taliban, which had control of all of Afghanistan before 9/11, are still a force to be reckoned with in Pakistan, because the nuclear arsenal of Pakistan is in the balance.
Who is the one in trouble here? Not us, but rather India. Kashmir is part of India, and if Pakistan falls, the Islamic extremists will take over Kashmir and threaten India’s possessions.
Finally, China has its own problems with the Islamic extremists in Tibet and other border areas.
It seems to me that these three countries should join in the fight to end the Taliban once and for all in Afghanistan, as well as clean out the Islamic extremists in Pakistan.
If they refuse to do this, then we, as a nation, should remove ourselves from the area. After all, the countries that will suffer if there is no containment are China, India and Russia, not us. We’ve done our part, and it is time for the neighborhood watch to take over.

China is not interested in fights outside its borders(for now). India is pre occupied with Pakistan. The global Islamic jihad movement is focused on destroying US and Western European targets. The neighboring countries are NOT our friends. They enjoy seeing America spend its money and youth in Afghanistan. One of the bedrock principles founding our nation was religious freedom. Labeling it "extremist" and its proponents "animals" doesn't diminish those peoples' liberty to worship who or what they wish without our approval. Our country has enough problems without patrolling the globe looking for something to justify our military's and spooks' budgets.

I believe we had every right to attack the sovereign nation of Afghanistan. The problem is, we did it wrong way. In doing so we allowed our attention to be diverted to Iraq.
Has anyone notice that after eight years our attention is once again being turned to Afghanistan and Iraq is moving to the rear burner. Where would we be had we stayed focused on Afghanistan and forget about Iraq?
TePee--We were able to focus on Iraq because of early successes in Afghanistan. Taliban and al Qaeda were literally chased out initially and regrouped in tribal areas of Pakistan. The taliban resurged in these rugged areas of Pakistan, and when we surged in Iraq, the bad guys headed all to the Tribal areas from Iraq to help the Taliban resurge. Taliban then headed back into Afghanistan pumped up and ready to resurge again. By then we were not prepared to meet this resurged force of Taliban,and that is where we are today. That's why General McChrystal has requested a surge of 40,000 troops in Afghanistan as part of a counterinsurgency initiative. To help regain the initiative that slipped away.

All right, interesting letter. Let's ask our elected leaders to try it. What do we have to lose, except our pride and military secrets. China is way too smart to use their military, which has been increasing by double digits for this. Our next war will proabably be with China as soon as we are weakened enough fighting terrorists. Ths sign of a good general is to conquer without firing a shot. They aren't selling us cheap goods at walmart, cause they like us, it's to undermine our economy and the final blow will be swift, and sure. The lessons the Russians learned, we need to learn as well, we trained and armed afghanis, against the ruskies, but it was the terrain, and the weather that defeated them. Given that the U.S. armed and assisted the mujahideen in Afghanistan to fight against the Soviets, I am not sure why anyone thinks that Russia should jump in to help us out. My personal opinion is that they probably feel that it is our own actions come to bite us in the rear end. But, that is my opinion.

First, let me explain why the owners of the WTC allowed their buildings to be demolished. 1) Legal issues due to asbestos.
"The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey had been losing money on the towers for years because of low tenancy. The financial loss was the real issue. There was also another vital issue -- asbestos! The towers had become an albatross sitting on the most valuable piece of real estate in the world. The Port Authority had three choices: sell or lease them, pay for expensive asbestos removal or demolish them. The Authority had tried for years but were unable to sell the buildings -- after all, what fool would take on the liability of asbestos? They couldn't demolish it. The health hazard of asbestos powder blanketing New York was legally unthinkable and totally out of the question. Expensive asbestos removal seemed to be the only option.
According to court records from New Jersey, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey attempted to have their insurers pay for the removal of the asbestos in several of their buildings including three of the buildings at the World Trade Center. The court case was initiated in 1991 after the Authority had scrapped extremely expensive asbestos removal in 1989. The case finally ended on 1 May 2001 with a judgment against the Port Authority. Now on to the question of how they pulled it off.
The security firm in charge of WTC security was an Israeli controlled company, Kroll Assc. (http://911review.org/Sept11Wiki/KrollAss...) They allowed 4 demolition experts (said to be art students) to LIVE in the WTC months before it was demolished. The WTC lease forbids anyone living in the building. So there you have it. The mossad drove the explosives into the WTC basement at night. An Israeli firm was hired to do an elevator renovation months before the attack, they worked mostly at night. The explosives were brought up to the floor where the "art students" lived. They installed the charges at night and were allowed to do so by the Israeli security firm that watched the buildings.
The Jewish owner of the WTC got an estimate on how much it would cost to demolish the WTC buildings due to the asbestos contamination. Found out it would be too expensive. Figured they could kill two birds with one stone with the 911 plot, and they pulled it off because most Americans are dumber than rocks.
