A 22-year-old suspected of slaying a mother and daughter was taken into custody Friday, police said.

Bryan Clay was arrested Friday by police on a felony child abuse warrant and will be rebooked at 7 a.m. Saturday in connection with the deaths of Ignacia Martinez, 38, and her 10-year-old daughter, Karla Martinez.

The two were found dead April 16 inside their home on the 1000 block of Robin Street after Ignacia Martinez’s 9-year-old son went to school and reported their deaths, police said.

Clay is also a suspect in the April 15 sexual assault against a 50-year-old woman near Tonopah and Vegas drives, police said.

DNA evidence linking the two cases became available around 5 p.m. Friday, police said.

The sexual assault of the 50-year-old and the slaying of the mother and daughter are believed to have taken place on the same day, police said.

The husband and father in the Robin Street incident was critically injured amid the slayings and remains hospitalized, police said. Another small child was found inside the home unharmed.

Currently, Clay will not be charged in connection with another assault that happened April 24 that officials originally thought could be linked, police said.

Anyone with information about either case can contact Metro’s homicide section at 828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555, to remain anonymous.
