An alleged sword-wielding robber who was shot and killed Sunday was not operating alone according to Metro Police.
Police on Sunday arrested a 47-year-old woman who is suspected of serving as the driver for the botched robbery of a Dairy Queen.
Just after noon Sunday, a man entered a Dairy Queen at 2595 S. Maryland Parkway, south of East Sahara Avenue, and threatened clerks with a sword. An employee shot the robber twice, and he was pronounced dead later Sunday at Sunrise Medical Center, according to Metro Police. The man has been identified as Bongkuk Pak, 36.
Metro Police arrested Las Vegas resident Carol Matteo in connection with the crime after identifying her as the alleged driver. Matteo has been charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary.
Police sealed off four rows of parking spaces outside the fast-food restaurant and marked a silver Toyota Camry inside that perimeter with bright-orange evidence tape during their initial investigation Sunday.
The Dairy Queen, which remained closed today, is between a Hawaiian barbecue restaurant and an optometry store in a shopping center anchored by an Albertsons supermarket.
Matteo’s bail is set at $80,000.
