Las Vegas ranks in bottom half of best places to live

Las Vegas could learn a thing or two about good living from Austin, Texas, Raleigh, N.C., and Colorado Springs, Colo.

Those are the best large cities to live in, according to a new WalletHub study. Las Vegas ranked 49th out of the 62 cities analyzed.

To generate the rankings, WalletHub compared cities’ attractiveness based on livability, the quality of their health care and education systems, economic growth and tax rates. For instance, WalletHub looked at recreation opportunities, what it’s like to be a driver in each city, the job markets, cost of living and participation in physical activities, among other metrics.

Las Vegas scored average in livability and low in education, health, economic growth and tax rates.

But at least we’re not living in Philadelphia, Memphis or Detroit, which rounded out the bottom of the list.
