Heart problems, heat contributed to death of tourist found near Las Vegas airport

An 84-year-old Australian tourist whose body was found near a Las Vegas freeway airport interchange earlier this month after he had been reported missing from a Las Vegas Strip resort died as a result of a weakened and enlarged heart, senile dementia and environmental heat stress, the Clark County Coroner's office reported.

Thuoc Van Dong of Collingwood, Australia, was found on Aug. 11 near the Airport Connector road and tunnel beneath McCarran International Airport and the 215 Beltway, according to Metro Police.

Dong, who didn't speak English, had last been seen around 5 p.m. Aug. 9 in the lobby of the MGM Grand resort, police said.
