Hall of Fame defensive lineman Warren Sapp was charged today with three counts of first-degree domestic battery in connection with an April 28 incident involving his girlfriend of five years, according to the Clark County District Attorney's Office.

Sapp's girlfriend, Chalyce Moore, told police Sapp stepped on her face and bit her finger during an argument that began in the M Resort pool area, according to a Metro Police domestic violence report.

The accusation is the latest charge against Sapp, who was arrested Feb. 2 in Phoenix for assaulting and soliciting a prostitute during Super Bowl weekend. He pleaded guilty to both charges. The solicitation charge was dropped last month when he completed a diversion program.

The NFL Network, where Sapp appeared as an on-air analyst since 2008, fired the former tackle and defensive end hours after his February arrest.

A friend of Moore's called police, saying Moore called her and told her the pair fought, the report said.

Police said Moore had a bruise on her lower lip and refused to answer questions.

Moore later told police she was with Sapp and his friends in a pool cabana at the M Resort when they began to argue, according to the report.

Moore alleged Sapp, 42, threw a margarita in her face and followed her out of the pool area, yanking on her purse, which contained his clothes, the report said.

The couple then got into Moore's vehicle, and while driving, she pulled over on Las Vegas Boulevard, asking Sapp to get out because she was sick of arguing, the report said.

Sapp asked the driver of another vehicle for a ride, but the driver refused, the report said.

Moore told police that at some point Sapp bit her middle finger on her left hand, and the two got back into the vehicle to go to Moore's Las Vegas condo, the report said.

At the condo, she alleges Sapp threw a belt at her and was leaving when she threw it back at him, the report said.

She said she ended up on the floor and didn't know how, and Sapp stepped on her face before leaving the scene.

Moore told police she had a stiff neck and a headache, and she vomited after the fight, according to the report.

Video from the M Resort obtained by police showed Sapp "violently pulled" on Moore, the report said.

Moore's friend told police she observed the pair arguing outside of Moore's residence and that Moore had bruising on her bicep, shoulder blade, legs and temple, according to the report.

Sapp is scheduled to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court at 8:30 a.m. July 23, according to court records. Sapp could not be immediately reached for comment, and it isn't clear if he's represented by an attorney.

Sapp, who filed for bankruptcy in 2012, played in the NFL from 1995 to 2007 for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.
