Man dies after collision with fire truck

A man died yesterday evening after a crash involving a Las Vegas fire truck, Metro Police said.

The 28-year-old driver was transported to Sunrise Hospital after his 2002 Chevy pickup truck collided with a fire engine around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Boulder Highway and Sandhill Road.

The man was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital, police said.

His truck struck the rear of the fire engine as it was turning right from southbound Boulder Highway to southbound Sandhill Road with its emergency lights and sirens on.

No firefighters were injured.
