North Las Vegas Police are looking for a man they say committed two armed robberies on the same day last month.

Police were called about 12:30 p.m. Aug. 7 to a convenience store in the 2700 block of East Lake Mead Boulevard, near Civic Center Drive, where witnesses said a man with a handgun demanded cash from the register, according to a press release.

He took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene, police said.

Officers were then called about 1:15 p.m. to a small store in the 800 block of East Lake Mead Boulevard, a little more than a mile away, where a man with a handgun also reportedly demanded and obtained money before fleeing the scene, police said.

No one was hurt in either incident.

Police believe the suspect in both incidents is the same man and described him as a black man about 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighing about 190 pounds.

He has black hair and brown eyes, and he was last seen wearing a red baseball hat, a white V-neck shirt and blue jeans, police said.

Anyone with additional information on the suspect or cases can call North Las Vegas Police at 702-633-9111, or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or visit crimestoppersofnv.com.
