Two local hospitals — Southern Hills and MountainView — have been recognized with a 2015 HealthInsight Quality Award for their performance in quality-care measures and patient satisfaction.

HealthInsight, a nonprofit aiming to improve health care, gives the award to hospitals that have demonstrated high quality in both categories, based on Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services reports and the hospitals’ patient experience scores. The award program began in September 2004.

Southern Hills and MountainView are part of the Sunrise Health System Hospitals. MountainView has received the HealthInsight Quality Award every year since 2010.

Leaders from both Southern Nevada hospitals released statements praising their staffs and vowing to continue to provide quality health care.

“This level of achievement requires strong leadership and a dedication to quality by all members of the health care team,” said Deborah Huber, executive director for HealthInsight Nevada.
