Mitch McConnell is blocking the nomination of a moderate Supreme Court justice. Perhaps he should heed the old curse, “May your wishes come true.”
He seems to think that by waiting, a Republican will be elected president and nominate a right-wing conservative who will support the Republican agenda. But there is virtually no chance of a Republican winning in November.
Will he be wishing he had allowed the current nominee, a moderate, fair-minded judge who will be guided by the Constitution, to proceed when President Hillary Clinton (or Bernie Sanders) nominates Barack Obama to the Supreme Court?
