It’s another record-breaking year for UNLV freshmen.
About 4,000 first-year students will start classes next week, the largest incoming class in the school’s history. It’s the fifth straight year UNLV has shattered the record.
Wednesday marked move-in day for students living on campus. This year, more than 1,900 students will live in UNLV residence halls, which are packed to capacity and subject to waiting lists, according to the university.
The university is renovating apartments on the north side of campus to house graduate students, but those units won’t be available until 2017.
Overall, undergraduate enrollment at UNLV is up by 5 percent, and graduate enrollment is up by 4 percent.
Classes start Monday.
UNLV has an exciting semester coming up.
In October, the university will host the last presidential debate before the general election, which will bring throngs of reporters and put UNLV in the international spotlight.
