Tue, Aug 30, 2016 (5 p.m.)

A man accused of shooting a man in front of Planet Hollywood early Sunday has been arrested by Metro Police.

Jeffrey Cooper, 25, was taken into custody Sunday and booked at the Clark County Detention Center on one count each of attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon and unlawful gun possession, records show.

Officers located Cooper in the north valley, spokeswoman officer Laura Meltzer said Tuesday. Details on his arrest were not immediately available.

First responders were dispatched to the entrance of the Miracle Mile Shops, 3663 Las Vegas Blvd. S., shortly after midnight Sunday where an altercation between two men escalated into a shooting, police said.

The victim was hospitalized with at least one gunshot wound not deemed to be life-threatening, police said.

Cooper, whose relationship with the victim wasn’t known, is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning.

The Associated Press contributed.
