Three people were taken to University Medical Center and traffic on the Las Vegas Strip came to a halt while officers investigated a crash Wednesday afternoon, according to Metro Police.

Police initially thought one of those involved was in critical condition, but that person’s injuries aren’t seen as life-threatening, Metro spokesman officer Jesse Roybal said.

The northbound lanes had reopened by 5 p.m.

The wreck, which involved three cars, including a cab, was reported about 2:50 p.m. in the southbound lanes in front of Caesars Palace, police said.

Northbound traffic on the Strip was stopped at the Flamingo and southbound traffic was halted at Caesars, police said.
