The UNLV basketball roster continues to grow as 6-foot-7 forward Ben Coupet announced his commitment on Twitter this morning. The Chicago native was in Las Vegas for an official visit over the weekend.

Coupet, who attended Simeon Career Academy, is known as an athletic rebounder with room to improve his offensive game. He also had interest from Bradley and DePaul.

Simeon is one of the country’s most well-known high school programs, producing two top two overall picks in the last eight years (Derrick Rose and Jabari Parker).

Coupet joins a roster that currently includes returners Tyrell Green, Jalen Poyser, Dwayne Morgan and Austin Starr along with newcomers Kris Clyburn, Cheickna Dembele and Jaylan Ballou.
