Gov. Brian Sandoval and other dignitaries were on hand to dedicate a new Nevada Veterans Memorial outside a state office building in Las Vegas.
The dedication ceremony took place Friday on a two-acre plot outside the Grant Sawyer state office building.
The memorial includes 18 larger-than-life statues that represent veterans from the Revolutionary War to the Global War on Terror, along with granite walls with narrative quotations.
The project was launched by the veteran-operated business American Shooters Inc., and a nonprofit foundation has been raising the estimated $2.2 million needed to complete it.
