The Golden Knights practice facility, slated to open for training camp in September, will be named City National Arena, the team announced today.

A multiyear partnership makes City National Bank the official bank of the team as well as giving it naming rights to the practice facility.

“City National is proud to become the official bank of the Vegas Golden Knights and to put our name on the team’s outstanding new City National Arena across the street from our Nevada banking headquarters,” Russell Goldsmith, the bank’s chairman and CEO, said in a news release.

Located next to Red Rock Resort in Summerlin, the 146,000-square-foot facility will house two NHL ice rinks, a 9,000-square-foot restaurant and a 4,000-square-foot pro shop.

It’s expected to cost is $25 million to $30 million and will host youth hockey leagues and UNLV hockey, in addition to the Golden Knights.

“Our practice facility was designed to be the official home of the Vegas Golden Knights but also a state-of-the-art community ice center for all Las Vegans to enjoy,” Golden Knights Chairman and CEO Bill Foley said.

“We are thrilled to partner with City National Bank on this endeavor, as City National shares in our vision of growing the sport of hockey in Southern Nevada and has a strong commitment to the community,” Foley said. “City National Arena will provide best-in-class amenities and programs for all skill levels and experience, regardless of age or gender. We look forward to officially opening our doors later this summer.”
