LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

Republicans aim to suppress vote

Wed, Aug 5, 2020 (2 a.m.)

For the past 15 years, the GOP has had a voter suppression agenda — redistricting, voter ID requirements, closing polling locations, cutting funding and any other tricks they can dream up.

An election using mail-in ballots scares Republicans because it would negate all of their hard work. That’s why the White House is talking about possible fraud.

A few months ago, a new White House lackey was placed in charge of the U.S. Postal Service. His orders to implement new rules came from the White House. These rules crippled the USPS’s ability to handle large numbers of mail-in ballots.

Now is the time to get a federal judge to block these rules from being implemented. Let’s see the White House fight it in court all the way to the Supreme Court. That takes time, and the president will lose that fight. Americans have the right to have their voices heard.
