Project Runway host and supermodel Heidi Klum brought her legendary Halloween party, in its 12th year, to Tao at the Venetian last night for the first time. Shortly after arriving in The Entertainment Capital of the World, Klum asked her driver to take her to see a billboard for the party, and she posed in front of it and tweeted the photo.
The Queen of Halloween fueled up for the night with Tao favorites (crispy rice, Chilean sea bass and spicy yellowtail jalapeno) in her room as she morphed into her costume with makeup by Bill Corso. Klum donned her eye-catching “Visible Woman” costume, a bodysuit painted with muscles, veins and tendons that make up the human body (think Bodies: The Exhibit, currently at the Luxor) and arrived on the red carpet on a gurney carried by bloody medics.
Fans lined the escalators up to Tao to catch a glimpse of the “either you’re in, or you’re out” hostess who this week crowned Anya Ayoung-Chee the winner of Season 9 of Project Runway. In the nightclub, Klum took over VIP tables on the dance floor with a group that included The Real Housewives of New York star Bethenny Frankel and her husband Jason Hoppy.
Klum, who is the 2011 Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF ambassador, was surprised with tricks and treats throughout the night as her favorite DJ ?uestlove spinned. Klum was presented with an intricately carved pumpkin by carver Ray Villafane, and a bloody version of Tao’s bottle fairy flew over the dance floor hanging by a noose. Klum, without singer husband Seal, danced and partied until nearly 4 am.
Also spotted at Tao: Howie Mandel, who performed standup at the Venetian this weekend; hunky French actor Gilles Marini; and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, who also dined at Tao. Thanks to Scott Harrison and Chris Weeks for their photo gallery and to Richard Corey for posting his video on YouTube.
