WASHINGTON - Democratic Rep. Dina Titus has been appointed to the House Education and Labor Committee, it was announced today.
Titus had sought a seat on the panel because of her extensive background in education as a profesor at UNLV.
But the committee also deals with workplace issues of interest in Southern Nevada, including its probe last year of construction deaths on the Las Vegas Strip.
This is Titus' second committee appointment as a freshman. She already is serving on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
