An ugly incident that left former Las Vegas Wrangler Chris Ferraro in a pool of blood on March 1, 2008 has landed former Victoria Salmon King Robin Gomez in court.

Gomez will appear in Victoria provincial court Monday to face assault charges after sucker punching Ferraro on the ice.

Ferraro needed eight stitches to close the wound caused by Gomez' attack. Ferraro almost never played again after suffering from severe vertigo and temporary facial paralysis from the blow.
