The Moorea Club at Mandalay Bay, one of the many pools that offer "European" sunbathing in Las Vegas, is an example of demand-based price discrimination, says the New York Times' Freakonomics blog. Male customers a pay $50 entrance fee, while female customers are charged $10. This is in spite of the fact that what the club sells -- a place in the sun -- costs the club the same no matter the gender of the patron.
