Library talent show winners announced

The Henderson District Public Libraries hosted its fourth annual Teen Talent Show at the Galleria Mall last week. After a total of 44 acts and 400 spectators, the winners were announced and awarded.

In the high school talent show, the winners were:

Honorable mention: ninth-grader Summer Hall, from the Las Vegas Academy, for her singing performance of “Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend;” and 11th-grader Dominique Marinaro, from Silverado High School, who performed a dance she choreographed herself to “Daddy's Little Girl” and “I Believe.”

The third place winner who also received a $50 Galleria Mall gift card was 10th-grader Jackie Mack, who attends Green Valley High School, for her song “No One” by Alicia Keys.

Winning a $75 Galleria Mall gift card for second place was Taylor Khaldy, a 10th-grader at Coronado High School. Taylor performed a theatrical singing performance of “Taylor the Latte Boy” by Kristin Chenoweth.

The first-place winner and winner of a $100 Galleria Mall gift card was 10th-grader Vannessa Bayot. She attends Coronado High School and performed the song “Listen” by Beyonce.

Tuesday night was the Middle School Talent Show. The winners were:

Third place was awarded to Haleyann Hart, a sixth-grader from Bob Miller Middle School, who performed a dance routine to “If They Could See Me Now.”

Second place was awarded to LeAyer Evans, a sixth-grader who attends Mannion Middle School, for her singing of “Love” by Keisha Cole.

The first place winner was seventh-grader Ariel Higuchi, from the Henderson International School, who sang “Everything's Coming Up Roses.”

Three honorable mentions were awarded to:

Sixth-grader Sydney Story, from the Explore Knowledge Academy, who sang “Orange Colored Sky;” sixth-grader Alexis Bradford, of Henderson International School, who sang “You Can't Stop the Beat;” and Tate Christian, a seventh-grader at Greenspun Junior High School, who sang “On Broadway.”

The middle school participants received Galleria Mall gift card awards just as the high school division.
