New ad accuses Joe Heck of opposing green jobs

Fri, Oct 15, 2010 (12:17 p.m.)

The League of Conservation Voters Victory Fund, which works to elect candidates who promote environmental policies, launched a $200,000 ad buy in Nevada's 3rd Congressional District today on behalf of Democratic incumbent Dina Titus.

The ad depicts Republican challenger Joe Heck as opposed to clean energy jobs.

As evidence, it cites Heck's support of a "No Climate Tax" pledge circulated by Americans for Prosperity, which advocates for free markets and limited government.

"Heck would prefer to stifle Nevada's cutting-edge clean energy economy rather than promote policies that would create jobs and increase investments in the state's already profitable renewable industries," said Tony Massaro, the Victory Fund's senior vice president for political affairs.

The Heck campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
