Las Vegas is going to get a little cooked again today. But find your umbrellas — there's a chance for some heavy rains and flash floods Friday through the weekend.
Las Vegas' temperature, which was in the 80s this morning, is expected to climb to 108 to 109 today, with north winds about 7 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
That's just a little cooler than Wednesday, when temperatures reached 110 or more degrees in some neighborhoods. The official high at McCarran International Airport was 109, according to the weather service.
The humidity is expected to increase later today as thunderstorms begin moving in from the southwest. Temperatures will drop to a low of 81 degrees tonight.
According to the weather service, thunderstorm coverage will increase and spread farther northwest each day through Sunday.
Flash flooding could be a significant threat to areas along and southeast of Interstate 15 beginning Friday, with the greatest risk expected on Sunday, the weather service says.
Friday brings a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. However, skies will be mostly sunny, with a high reaching 103.

Today is the anniversary of the hottest day in American history, when Death Valley, Calif., recorded a high of 134 degrees back in 1913. Death Valley is expected to reach only 124 degrees today.
