Doctor removes pics on his web site of himself being illegally injected with Botox

Fri, Sep 11, 2009 (2:25 p.m.)

Dr. Benjamin Rodriguez quickly took down the ads for his Botox practice, which showed him being injected by someone he identified as a "nurse" but who is actually a medical assistant, after we strated asking questions. And as we pointed out on "Face to Face" this week, that is not legal -- as Medical Examiners Board boss Louis Ling said on the program and again the next day in the Review-Journal.

Check out what Ling said on the program here:

Selective Enforcement

And at right, I have posted the picture of Rodriguez that he removed from his site.

There is a lot more to this story because a medical assistant at a spa -- not a doctor's office -- is being prosecuted by the AG for doing exactly what was being done to Rodriguez. Ling tried to say the difference was the standard of medicine at a doctor's office and a spa, but later acknowledged it is not legal either way.
