Andre Agassi's 13th annual Grand Slam for Children fundraiser proved another huge winner last night (Saturday) for our hometown tennis champion.

In the 12 years that hometown world tennis champion Andre Agassi has organized his annual Grand Slam for Children charity benefit in Las Vegas, he has raised $70 million. Now comes the 13th this weekend, and organizers are hoping, despite the down economy, it will be yet another winner.

"It’s the most important, thrilling and satisfying work I've ever done in my life," he told me, noting that this year his College Preparatory School will have its first graduating class.

Here are the first Luxe Life photos of the red carpet at the Wynn and the concert performances for the 1,900 guests, who paid an average of $10,000 per person. After a glittering gala dinner, they watched Rod Stewart, Sheryl Crow, David Spade, Natasha Bedingfield, Ray Romano, and Lifehouse in the resort's huge Lafite Ballroom. Britain's Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, was among the guests.

Steve Wynn on the economy

Robin Leach interviews casino developer Steve Wynn about the economy Saturday at the Andre Agassi Grand Slam for Children at the Wynn Hotel and Casino.

Performances by 16-year-old Charice, an Oprah Winfrey and David Foster discovery, and our hometown rockers, The Killers, had the black-tie crowd rocking and dancing. They even left their seats to dance right at the stage and gave them incredible standing ovations on a mighty memorable night.

Although they didn't perform, superstar Mariah Carey and her new husband, Nick Cannon, were in the spotlight seated alongside Steve and Elaine Wynn, hosts for the glamorous night.

Our thanks to celebrity photographer Denise Truscello for these first photos along with my personal shots. Luxe Life will have a full posting of photos tomorrow from our ace lensmen Scott Doctor and Tom Donoghue, plus my full report and exclusive interviews with Andre himself. Donny Osmond revealed he and Marie are singing a four-year new deal at the Flamingo and starchef Emeril Lagasse revealed he'll open yet another Vegas hotspot as a special sports bar before year-end.

Meantime you can check out all of our red-carpet interviews in our video panel, and please listen to hotel mogul Steve Wynn's interview about the state of the crashing economy, how its affecting Vegas and how he believes we will win again!
