The video screens stretching across the length of Planet Hollywood and its Miracle Mile shops were all tuned to the CNN telecast of the Michael Jackson memorial tribute at Staples Center in Los Angeles this morning.

Fans stood watching for the entire 150-minute service of tribute speeches, song remembrances and even a little politicking. The stereo sound was pumped through the state-of-the-art, wall-to-wall, mega sound system, too.

Fans on the Strip applauded, cheered, went silent at appropriate moments and sang along with the stellar list of stars who entertained, but they also shed tears when Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Michael Katherine closed the broadcast crying how much she loved her father.
