Fabio Castro’s scoreless inning streak ended at 24 innings Thursday night for the Las Vegas 51s in their 8-5 defeat to the Oklahoma RedHawks to open an eight-game home stand at Cashman Field.

Castro entered with a streak of 21 scoreless innings over three starts, but gave up a solo home run to Max Ramirez in the fourth inning. Castro gave up three runs, two of which were earned, in 5 and 1/3 innings.

Oklahoma City scored four runs in the ninth inning to break a 4-all tie. Brandon Boggs’ two-run double sparked the outburst and Kevin Richardson had a RBI single.

Las Vegas put two runners on base with no outs in its half of the ninth, but Buck Coats hit into a double play to end the threat. Joe Inglett followed with a run-scoring single before Randy Ruiz grounded into a fielder’s choice to end the game.

Coats, Ruiz and Angel Sanchez led Las Vegas with two hits each.

The teams resume their four-game series at 7:05 p.m. Friday.
