Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.

Colorado Rockies plus-250 at Los Angeles Dodgers: $200 to win $500 There’s great value in betting Colorado tonight. Yes, even against a pitcher with something to prove.

Los Angeles starter Clayton Kershaw, the unquestioned best pitcher in baseball, has a 5.84 earned run average this season in two starts. In his last outing, Kershaw surrendered 10 hits and five runs over six innings against Arizona. As crazy as it sounds, I love the Rockies tonight to duplicate the success of the defending Cy Young Award winner.

Colorado (7-2) ranks third in batting average (.301), fourth in slugging percentage (.475) and eighth in runs (45) out of baseball’s 30 teams. They are right-handed hitter heavy, meaning the left-handed Kershaw won’t intimidate the Colorado batters.

There’s good money to be made during baseball season with heavy plus-money odds. Tonight’s one of those opportunities.

Standings: Keefer (76-72-2, $11,417), Bern (74-66-1, $10,662), Brewer (65-80-3, $1,845)
