Even if Bauer returns to full strength in Minnesota, Cleveland coaches won’t allow him to pitch deep into the game in consecutive starts. That means the Cleveland bullpen — one of the worst in baseball — will pitch in at least three innings.
The Indians are the best team in the American League Central and starting one of their best pitchers, which is why the Twins are plus-160 on the betting board. That’s great value because the Twins are at home on a Saturday night — there are usually great crowds across baseball on the weekends.
More important, Minnesota was a playoff-qualifier last year and holds a 23-20 record.
