Vegas Play of the Day: Indians at Twins

Sat, Jun 2, 2018 (1:15 p.m.)

We’ve entered the fourth season of the annual South Point-lined Play of the Day competition, effective July 1.

Starting bankrolls have reset to $10,000, with the maximum bet being to win $1,000 and the minimum wager $300. A participant's failure to place a bet on their scheduled day results in a $200 bankroll penalty.

Ray Brewer won back-to-back titles in the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons, after Taylor Bern prevailed in 2014-15.

Minnesota Twins plus-160 vs. Cleveland Indians: $600 to win $960:I don’t trust Cleveland starter Trevor Bauer, who last Sunday threw more than 120 pitches against Houston. Even if Bauer returns to full strength in Minnesota, Cleveland coaches won’t allow him to pitch deep into the game in consecutive starts. That means the Cleveland bullpen — one of the worst in baseball — will pitch in at least three innings.

The Indians are the best team in the American League Central and starting one of their best pitchers, which is why the Twins are plus-160 on the betting board. That’s great value because the Twins are at home on a Saturday night — there are usually great crowds across baseball on the weekends.

More important, Minnesota was a playoff-qualifier last year and holds a 23-20 record.

Keefer (34-28-1, $10,916), Granger (17-16, $9,059), Grimala (16-22, $5,965), Brewer (26-29-1, $4,270)
