The sports betting market’s old flame meets its new fling in Sunday Night Football of the NFL’s week 6.
For more than a decade, the New England Patriots typically attracted more betting action than any other teams in sports books. They haven’t even been the most popularly bet AFC team in the 2018 season, though.
The Kansas City Chiefs have replaced them, with undefeated, high-flying Chiefs covering in each of their first five games behind electric second-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Kansas City is drawing the bulk of the action going into its game at New England, which kicks off at 5:25 p.m. tonight on NBC, as a 3.5-point underdog.
The two teams are currently the favorites in the AFC to reach the Super Bowl, meaning the matchup could have major implications down the line.
Chiefs at Patriots is also the game of the week in the Sun’s handicapping contest, making it a required pick in the competition asking each sports writer to make six wagers off of the South Point betting board weekly.
