Vegas Play of the Day: Colorado at Oregon

Fri, Oct 11, 2019 (2:40 p.m.)

The sixth season of the annual Play of the Day betting competition between the Sun's sports staff is now under way, effective July 1.

Bankrolls start at $10,000 for each of the four participants, with the objective to increase it as much as possible over the next year. The minimum daily wager is $300, with a $200 penalty assessed for failing to place a bet on an assigned day.

Past winners are Case Keefer in 2018-19 and 2017-2018, Ray Brewer in 2016-2017 and 2015-2016, and Taylor Bern in 2014-2015.

Colorado Buffaloes plus-22 at Oregon Ducks: $330 to win $300

Anyone who is 100% convinced that the clearly better Ducks are going to roll Colorado has never met #Pac12AfterDark.

It's getting disturbing how often the Pac-12's best team loses in the late game over the weekend. Oregon is the last hope for the conference to get a playoff team, and the Ducks would need to win out for a chance. The Pac-12 being the cannibalistic conference that it is, will never allow it. Oregon will lose a weird one this season.

And Colorado isn't bad! It came from behind to knock off Nebraska then upset a ranked Arizona State team on the road. Oregon should win this game. But would anyone be surprised if it didn't? And 22 points is way too many to leave up to fate and the magic of late-night Pac-12 games.

Current Standings: Grimala (8-3, $10,945), Emerson (6-9, $7,920), Brewer (6-8, $7,875), Keefer (9-10-1, $6,325)
