The sixth season of the annual Play of the Day betting competition between the Sun's sports staff is now underway, effective July 1.

Bankrolls start at $10,000 for each of the four participants, with the objective to increase it as much as possible over the next year. The minimum daily wager is $300, with a $200 penalty assessed for failing to place a bet on an assigned day.

Past winners are Case Keefer in 2018-19 and 2017-2018, Ray Brewer in 2016-2017 and 2015-2016, and Taylor Bern in 2014-2015.

Georgia minus-4 vs. Baylor: $550 to win $500

Between draft preparations and injuries, Georgia has a lot of players missing tonight's game in New Orleans. Is it enough to shoot this spread a touchdown below where it should be at full-strength? I don't think so.

It's not as if Baylor is in a fully ideal situation either. Quarterback Charlie Brewer was only recently cleared after suffering a concussion in the Big 12 Championship Game. Coach Matt Rhule meanwhile is mulling his NFL options.

I'm sure he would say it's been no distraction, and that might be true, but it's not always the case. Georgia is one of the few programs in the country that can dip into its second-string and not be at a major disadvantage against a team like Baylor.

The Bulldogs are loaded with blue-chip prospects up and down the roster. That dichotomy means Georgia would have been enough to prevent the spread from ever getting this short at any other point of the season.

I leaned to Georgia even when this number sat at minus-7. Three points lower, it's got to be a play.

Current Standings: Grimala (11-5, $9,365), Keefer (21-20-2, $7,075), Emerson (11-15, $7,090), Brewer (9-10, $6,045)
