A cancer-awareness event will be held 1 to 4 p.m. April 20 at the West Las Vegas Library, 951 W. Lake Mead Blvd.
Activities will include medical speakers, exhibits, cooking demonstrations, blood pressure readings, food sampling and music by the Baptist choir at Nellis Air Force Base.
The Las Vegas Coalition of the National Black Leadership Initiative on Cancer is sponsoring the event, which is a kickoff for the National Cancer Institute's National Minority Cancer Awareness Week.
