County-approved spending

How the Clark County Commission voted Tuesday to spend tax dollars:

* $5.45 MILLION: To Wells Cargo for the construction of improvements on Desert Inn Road between Jones and Valley View boulevards, including portions of Wynn Road and a parcel on the southeast corner of Arville Street and Pioneer Avenue.

* $4.89 MILLION: Out of various county road funds for the rehabilitation and repaving of local and collector streets throughout Clark County.

* $1.04 MILLION: For the appraisal and purchase of 13 parcels needed for right of way for the western leg of the Las Vegas Beltway from Tropicana Avenue to Hualpai Way.

* $450,000: For consulting services with Selzer, Ealy, Hemphill and Blasdel for the Desert Tortoise Long-Term Habitat Conservation Plan.

* $425,357: To Las Vegas Electric Inc. for the construction of three traffic signal systems at the intersections of Buffalo Drive and Tropicana Avenue, Durango Drive and Spring Mountain Road, and Durango and Flamingo Road.

* $343,705: To extend for one year the excess liability insurance policy with the Coregis Group.

* $310,805: To purchase a custom fire pumper and a custom squad vehicle from Emergency One Inc., and a custom squad vehicle from Becker Fire Equipment for the Stateline Fire Station, which is under design.
