New Orleans rapper found shot to death

Sun, Apr 6, 1997 (11:59 a.m.)

Albert Thomas, 22, of the rap group U.N.L.V., was shot in the head.

The group's locally known hits included "Drag 'em In The River," a solo for Thomas on their most recent album "Uptown 4 Life," produced with New Orleans-based Cash Money Records.

Thomas' death follows high-profile killings of two rappers: The Notorious B.I.G. in Los Angeles on March 9 and Tupac Shakur in Las Vegas in September.
