"I can tell you, every department head wants three times the space they now have," he said. "We are largely handicapped on storage space."
Don Smit, overseeing hospital expansion plans, said the up side of improved obstetric facilities is that more women are staying in Winnemucca to have babies. But that also underscores the need for more room.
"The lab and obstetrics are OK until you get eight women with babies and no place to put them," he said.
