North Las Vegas Police will be conducting a checkpoint this week as part of stepped-up enforcement against intoxicated drivers.
The checkpoint will be held Thursday from 6 p.m. to midnight in the 2000 block of Las Vegas Boulevard North, police said.
In addition to watching for drunken drivers, police said they will use the opportunity to encourage safe driving habits and promote the use of safety belts and child safety seats.
