Letter: Officials not being fair to Wal-Mart

Thu, Sep 9, 1999 (9:49 a.m.)

In regard to our government officials, I think that it would be proper for them to apply their rules equally to business establishments.

How can these officials approve more casinos and add to the traffic danger and congestion on Las Vegas Boulevard again and again?

Then with their usual aplomb, they move to stop Wal-Mart from building in a larger area with more parking. Maybe they can explain that discriminatory position.

What kind of politics, buy-outs or favors did it take to arrive at that decision. I do not work for Wal-Mart and have no financial ties in any way to this endeavor.
