Albert R. "Archie" Archuletta

Albert R. "Archie" Archuletta, 83, of Henderson died Tuesday in Henderson. He was born Feb. 28, 1917, in Colorado. A resident for 51 years, he was a retired brick mason for a titanium processing plant, a World War II Army veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was actively involved with the Henderson Seniors Center.

He is survived by his wife, Reyes; four daughters, Irene Miera of Salt Lake City and Edna Arredondo-Caulkins, Linda Hughes and Angelina Cordova, all of Las Vegas; two sons, Albert Archuletta Jr. of Alaska and James Arredondo of Las Vegas; one sister, Julia of El Paso, Texas; 28 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary Friday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services are scheduled 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Park.

Cindy Barnard

Cindy Barnard, 36, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 18, 1964, in Roswell, N.M. A resident for 18 years, she was a phone saleswoman for political pollsters.

She is survived by her husband, Grady; her father, Dr. Paul Jones of Las Vegas; her mother, Mary Ann Quick of Boulder City; one sister, Donna Bales of Livermore, Calif.; and her grandmother, Mary Louise Jones of Clovis, N.M.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Katelyn Ione Bingaman

Katelyn Ione Bingaman, 2 days, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born July 5 in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her mother, Katrina Robin Bingaman, and her father, Evan Shawn Jones, both of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

Bennie Dammen

Bennie Dammen, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 26, 1922, in Rousa, Minn. A resident for 36 years, he was a retired handyman and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Dammen of Las Vegas, Deborah Dammen of Caliente and Cheryl Wittwer of Henderson; one brother; three sisters; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Weldon Bernard Freeman

Weldon Bernard Freeman, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born May 6, 1914, in Oklahoma. A resident for 42 years, he was a Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; four sons, DeWayne Freeman, Jerry Freeman and Bill Freeman, all of Las Vegas, and Larry Freeman of San Diego; two daughters, Patricia Jones of Mississippi and Glenda Schultz of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Robert Walter House Sr.

Robert Walter House Sr., 49, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born March 6, 1951, in New York. A resident for 48 years, he was a hotel groundskeeper.

He is survived by two sons, Robert House Jr. and Michael House, and four sisters, Sandra Robison, Nancy Pfister, Shirley Painter and Joy Giambelluca, all of Las Vegas; and four brothers, William Harmon of Arkansas and Frank House, Jim House and Paul House, all of Las Vegas.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Burial will be private.

John H. Kolacz

John H. Kolacz, 84, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local care center. He was born April 1, 1916, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 22 years, he was a retired steel worker and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Florence; one son, John Kolacz of Las Vegas; one daughter, Lorraine Roberts of Canada; one brother, Henry Kolacz of Depew, N.Y.; two sisters, Helen Skalski of Hialeah, Fla., and Lottie Nagowski of Corpus Christi, Texas; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Henrietta Lewis, 71, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospice. She was born Sept. 20, 1928, in Detroit. A resident for one year, she was a homemaker and a member of the City of Hope.

She is survived by one brother, Hershel Ross Lewis of Las Vegas.

Visitation is scheduled noon-1 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Bernard Gerard Mattos, 76, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 13, 1924, in Honolulu. A resident for 12 years, he was an engineering foreman.

Audrey Leota Miller, 73, of Las Vegas died July 6 in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 3, 1926, in Michigan. A resident for 39 years, she was a retired Stardust hotel-casino hostess and a member of Culinary Local 226.

She is survived by one daughter, Katherine Grigg of Las Vegas; two sons, John Espana of Pahrump and Richard Miller of Henderson; one sister, Yvonne Patrick of Tennessee; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

John Hall Morrison

John Hall Morrison, 88, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 12, 1912, in West Virginia. He worked at the Nevada Test Site, owned and operated Nellis Car Wash for 23 years, owned a 7-Eleven for 21 years, was a World War II Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Masons for 50 years.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice; one daughter, Anita Ewanick of Las Vegas; two sons, Charles Morrison of Las Vegas and John Morrison of Harlingen, Texas; two sisters, Loretta Ross of Clarksburg, W.Va., and Mary Schmitz of Denver, N.C.; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Johanness Norgard, 79, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 6, 1920. He was a veteran.

Justin Charles Pierce

Justin Charles Pierce, 25, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born March 21, 1975, in London. A resident of Las Vegas and Los Angeles for three years, he was an actor.

He is survived by his wife, Gina Rizzo.

John J. Pierzga

John J. Pierzga, 80, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born March 3, 1920, in Nazareth, Pa. A resident for 28 years, he was a retired instructor for the Army and a World War II and Korean War veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann Lane and Katherine Eck, both of Manasquan, N.J.; three sisters, Rose Rothrock of Easton, Pa., Margaret Hnatt of Alpha, N.J., and Dorothy Schneebli of Stroudsburg, Pa.; two brothers, Frank Pierzga of New Port Richey, Fla., and Henry Pierzga of Alpha, N.J.; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m. until 11 a.m services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Cemetery.

Claude R. Polston

Claude R. Polston, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 12, 1922, in St. Francesville, Ill. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired Navy chief petty officer, World War II and Korean War veteran, a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.

He is survived by one daughter, Judith Anne Polston; one son, Richard Polston of Indianapolis; two brothers, Donald Polston of Bruceville, Ind., and Ralph Polston of Bicknell, Ind.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services and burial will be in Indiana.

John C. Sathrum, 64, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 12, 1936, in International Falls, Minn. A resident for 26 years, he was a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and Vietnam War veteran who served for 22 years. He was a member of Retired Officers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra M.; one son, Scott M. Sathrum of Las Vegas; his mother, Margaret Sathrum, and one sister, Virginia Milette, both of International Falls, Minn.; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Gloria Brown, one son, Daniel Sotelo, and two daughters, Monica Sotelo and Naomi Sotelo, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, and six sisters, all of Salinas, Calif.; and two grandsons.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd; two sons, Timothy Whitney and George D. Whitney, and two daughters, Natalie Ramirez and Janet Whitney, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Mervin Gifford of Idaho and Delamar Gifford of Las Vegas; and 11 grandchildren.

Lee Willig

Lee Willig, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 8, 1923, in Hubbard, Iowa. A resident for 40 years, he was an electrician and maintenance worker for 19 years at Pepsi-Cola and a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War Navy veteran who retired after 30 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; one daughter, Judy Ferguson of El Cajon, Calif.; two sisters, Betty Julian of Eugene, Ore., and Ruth Piper of Eldora, Iowa; five brothers, Dale Willig of Pensacola, Fla., Lloyd Willig of Forest City, Iowa, Glenn Willig of Grundy, Iowa, Wesley Willig of Eldora and Mayo Willig of Stockton, Ill.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
